A group of girlfriends and I had a really wonderful night at the Petrel last night. It's so good to see this place is so busy and full of good vibes every time I come. The food was, as always, absolutely delicious. The weekend roast never misses and is so well priced. The service was second to none. We never felt rushed even though we were too busy talking to order for a while. Our server was exceptionally friendly, helpful and attentive. The extensive wine list meant we each got something we really loved. If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend you go and check it out for yourself.

Most happy to call this one of my favourite local pubs. Always great friendly attentive service. Table service & prompt delivery in a bright comfortable dining room. A contained menu and a specials board, including traditional meals with a fresh twist and many other temptations. Impossible to pick a favourite as all meals, every visit, have been delish. Today was Baba ganoush, bangers & mash, bourbon beef & jalapeño pie, and zucchini & ricotta pansotti (a filled pasta). All sooo yummo. Add a few drinks and another wonderful lunch. We’ll be back. EDIT After many more meals here, I’m back here to confirm the constant high standard. Traditional meals with a modern makeover. A most lovely French host gave a spark to today’s visit.

This would have to be the best schnitzel I have ever eaten & I keep going back for it. I highly recommend getting an add on of peppercorn sauce and also try the bangers and mash. The schnitzel is SO BIG and SO JUICY.

Fantastic experience. Had wanted to go for ages, and heard great things. It did not disappoint. Went with my work friends and we all got the schnitzel with chips and coleslaw, highly recommend. The atmosphere was great, the fit out of the hotel is so well done. The staff were friendly. I will definitely be back.

Don’t be fooled by the exterior - the food is a beautiful mesh of pub classics but refined. The servers were super polite and attentive, and the environment was a vibe. The highlight was the chicken schnitzel for sure it was perfectly juicy chicken breast (a rarity) and cooked well.

Best chicken schnitzel and steak in Geelong! Espresso martinis were perfect and the beers and wine also outstanding. Highly recommend.

The first time to the Petrel hotel. It is a nice open dinning room and was busy the whole time we were there. If you are going it may pay to book. All the staff were very friendly from the young woman that showed us to our table and the ones who served us thru dinner, it was good to see that they offered drink service to the tables. The food was good even though the menu is not that large and there are no starters on the menu. (like garlic bread or things like that) for a main meal / desert and a drink it is around $60 per head.
